Description
In this concert, alongside other pieces centered around Love and Dream, we have specifically selected these three compositions to honor Latinx Heritage Month. The Concert Choir will perform an arrangement of the highly popular Venezuelan song 'Alma Llanera' by Pedro Elías Gutiérres (1870-1954). Our Chamber Singers will present the exquisite 'Soneto de la Noche,' composed by Morten Lauridsen, which beautifully sets Pablo Neruda's stunning love poem to music. The concert will conclude with a lively arrangement by Puerto Rican composer Suzzette Ortis, 'El Cumbanchero.
Cal State LA students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as community members are welcome to attend.
