Position:
Lecturer: Temporary faculty positions with the possibility of renewal for additional semesters.
Starting Date:
On-going. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have a master’s degree in nursing or appropriate degree for specialty area from an accredited university (master’s degree for undergraduate courses; doctoral degree, or master’s degree and substantial teaching experience for graduate courses). Professional work experience in clinical specialty area. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment. Must possess an unrestricted California registered nurse license.
The successful candidate will be expected to join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in our University’s shared commitment to the principles of engagement, service, and the public good.
Preferred Qualifications:
Faculty will teach in at least one of a variety of undergraduate or graduate clinical courses related to variety of specialties in nursing: simulation, medical surgical nursing, maternal child nursing, psychiatric mental health nursing, pediatric nursing, gerontological nursing, community health, pharmacology, leadership or advanced practice nursing and be available for office hours.
Duties:
Under supervision of faculty, successful candidates will teach one laboratory section. They will be required to meet weekly with the lab coordinator and may be expected to review the lecture associated with the lab they are teaching.
Salary:
The salary schedule information for the faculty lecturer: Academic Year-month Classification is available based on the following ranges: (per salary schedule 7/1/2022)
Lecturer A/2 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $4,530 - $6,056
Lecturer B/3 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $5,405 - $11,994
Lecturer C/4 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $6,190 - $13,172
Lecturer D/5 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $7,794 - $13,797
The anticipated monthly hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
