The use of animals in instructional activities or research (whether funded or unfunded) requires prior approval from the Cal State LA Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The IACUC maintains oversight of University animal facilities and animal care procedures, and carries out such activities as required by law to assure the humane treatment of animals, in compliance with federal regulations.
IACUC Application Process
To obtain Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) review and approval of research and teaching projects using live, vertebrate, non-human animals, please complete and submit a protocol application form as required by Federal agencies and University policy.
IACUC Meeting Schedule
Protocol application forms for the instructional and research use of animals should be submitted to the IACUC Coordinator at least thirty (30) days prior to the next scheduled IACUC meeting.
