Student Assistant
Lizette, currently in her third year at Cal State LA, is dedicated to obtaining a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and Public Relations. As a first-generation student, her profound connection to her Hispanic heritage and close-knit family serves as a driving force behind her passion for social justice, civic engagement, and advocacy for underrepresented groups. Lizette's commitment to academic excellence and community leadership is evident in her role as the President of the Academic Honors Association and her position as an Honors College Ambassador. Currently serving as the James R Galbraith fellow, interning in the office of Governor Gavin Newsom, Lizette is not only a trailblazer in her family but also an influential figure as the oldest sibling, embodying her vision to contribute to a more equitable and informed society through her chosen major.
