Beta Alpha Psi hosted it's annual Meet the Firms event which is an opportunity for accounting students to network with some of the biggest accounting forms in the Los Angeles area. The event was coordinated and run by Fernando Casas, Jason Vuong, and Victor You. The event not have done so well if it weren't for the support received from BAP internal vice president Justin Chow, Secretary Alyssa Benipayo, the Accounting Department Chair Dr. Kathryn Hansen, and Interim Placement Coordinator Erin Doolittle.
Meet the Firms comprised of 27 firms with roughly 109 professionals and 211 students, making the ratio of student to professionals approximately 2 to 1. The Golden Eagle Ballroom was filled with eager professionals. Over the course of the event great feedback was received from everyone including professionals, students and faculty. The most notable feedback received was from Dean Goodrich of the College of Business & Economics, Club advisors for BAP Dr. Kunkel and Dr. Hansen, along with past alumni and Meet the Firms coordinators. We all look up to them and were overjoyed to hear that they were impressed with our event. A few professionals even commented that the event was running so well without any flaws.
At the end, we were all very happy that everything was successful. We are grateful to everyone that helped, not just Beta Alpha Psi officers and members, but also our friends from Accounting Society.
