Graduate Students in Information Systems Yash Choksi, Tanvi Gawade and Aakanksha Tasgaonkar won first prize at the Cyber Security & Awareness Fair and competition held on October 24th, 2019 at Cal Poly Pomona.

In the final round of the competition among 42 teams, Yash, Tanvi, and Aakanksha presented their work on machine learning and analytics in security titled Malicious URLs Detection: A Machine Learning Approach. Judges were impressed and the team took the first prize and $500.
Faculty Mentor Dr. Shilpa Balan remarked, “It has been a wonderful experience to supervise these students.” Great things are in store for this team of Golden Eagles.
