Accounting Student Carlos David Participated in the AICPA’s Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop

August 15, 2014

Carlos David Congratulations to Carlos David, an honors accounting student, who participated in the American Institute of CPA’s Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop in Oregon in June 2014.  In order to participate in the Leadership Workshop, participants must have a GPA of 3.0, be pursuing the CPA credential, and be active in campus and community organizations.

The Workshop speakers, panel discussions and interactive programs helped Carlos to gain confidence and enhanced his understanding of the various career paths in the accounting profession.  The sessions also prepared him for those steps that he needs to follow after graduation in order to a successful CPA.

One of the skills emphasized in the workshop was team building.  Carlos worked in several team-building exercises which provided insight on how an effective team should work.  These workshops also allowed Carlos to network extensively with the AICPA professionals and fellow participants.
