Learning Objectives for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems Program

Our students will be able to achieve the following:

Learning Goal #1:  To understand the fundamentals of business and economics

Learning Objectives: 

Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding at a basic level of concepts and tools in:

Learning Goal #2:  To acquire the knowledge needed to model organizational processes and data; define and implement technical and process solutions;  understand the application of information technology in helping individuals, groups, and organizations achieve their goals; manage projects and systems.

2.1 Apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline
2.2 Analyze a problem and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution
2.3 Design, implement and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs
2.4 Analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society
2.5 Understanding of processes that support the delivery and management of information systems within business application environments

Learning Goal #3: To be able to communicate and work in groups with an understanding of professional and social responsibilities

Note: Learning Goal #1 corresponds to the BSBA Learning Goal #1 and Learning Goal#2 and Learning Goal#3 are based on both ICCP and ABET curriculum standards. Students will have option-specific Learning Goals as well.

Learning Goal #4 (Business Systems Option Goal): Students will acquire knowledge and skills for planning, analysis, design and management of business information systems.
