TRANSFERS

We are proud and excited that you have chosen to continue your higher education journey with us here at Cal State LA! Through Golden Eagle Orientation, you can access information and resources to get your college experience off to a great start.

For incoming transfer students enrolling for fall 2016, there is no Orientation fee required.

Incoming transfer students who have been conditionally admitted to the university and have paid their Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD) will receive an email invitation beginning May 3, 2016 with instructions on how to sign-up for an in-person advisement and registration date. An icon for Golden Eagle Orientation Online will appear in your student portal beginning the week of June 27th. Academic advisement is required for all incoming transfer students. You will not be able to register for classes until you have completed your group advisement session. Please note that the reservation deadline is Friday, June 17th.

Course Registration

New transfer students will register for classes on their selected registration date. Students must pay all tuition fees prior to registering for classes. Additionally, all active registration holds must be resolved prior to your registration date. Some possible causes for registration holds may include:

  • Incomplete Financial Aid documents
  • Incomplete Admissions verifications/documents
  • Incomplete/missing test score information

You can use your Student Portal to pay your tuition and check for holds. To access your portal, you will need to have activated your myCalStateLA Identity Account. Use the Tuition and Fee Payment Calculator tool on GET to help calculate your total tuition cost.

Visit GET to learn more about the course registration system. Click on the tutorial videos in the top right hand corner of the screen for assistance with searching, selecting, adding, dropping, and waitlisting courses, or run your CAAR report. Additional information regarding transferred courses and units can be found on Assist.org.

Final Transcripts

The official transcript deadline is July 1, 2016. All final, official transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions by or before this date. Late transcripts will NOT be accepted. Eligibility for enrollment will be determined using coursework completed and listed in these transcripts. Failure to meet the admission requirements and all related enrollment deadlines will make you ineligible to enroll for Fall 2016.
