Scholarships
Honors College Scholarships
All eligible applicants to the Honors College will be considered for these and other scholarships. No separate application is required. Scholarships will be awarded based on a comprehensive review of application materials.
President's Scholars
$2,500-$10,000 (up to $40,000 over four years) will be awarded to incoming freshmen demonstrating high achievement, motivation and a commitment to education. President's Scholars will generally have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.75 and a combined SAT Reasoning Test score of at least 1200 (based only on the Critical Reading and Math sections), or a composite ACT score of at least 27.
Honors College Scholars
$2,000 ($8,000 over four years) will be awarded to incoming Honors College freshmen who have demonstrated great potential, motivation, and a commitment to education.
Osher Scholarships
Osher Scholarships are awarded to California community college transfer students admitted into California State University, Los Angeles. Students admitted to Cal State L.A.'s Honors College and students completing an approved Transfer Model AA degree for transfer to a CSU campus are preferred; however all eligible community college transfer students may apply. Scholarships will be awarded to students who:
- are transferring or have transferred from a California community college with at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units
- are entering or entered Cal State L.A. at the junior level or above
- demonstrate financial need
- show academic promise and a commitment to obtaining a baccalaureate degree
Honors College students and approved Transfer Model AA degree applicants must also meet the criteria for those respective programs.
To apply, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Cal State L.A.'s General Scholarship Application available on the University's Financial Aid Office website: www.calstatela.edu/univ/finaid/. Honors College applicants do not need to complete the General Scholarship Application to be considered for Osher Scholarships.
