Library Services for Alumni & Community

The following alumni and community groups are eligible for library borrowing privileges:

In order to receive a library account you first need to apply in person at the First Floor Service Desk, Library North. Library accounts will remain active for one year from the date of approved application. Application forms are available at the desk or print the application form, fill it out, and bring it to the library. The following are required at the time of application or renewal:

  • A valid goverment issued ID or Driver's license
  • If you are applying for an Alumni account: proof of Alumni Association membership
  • If you are applying for a Community Borrower card: a non-refundable fee of $35, payable by cash, check, or money order
  • If you are applying for a high school or Mutual use account: your school ID

The following library privileges are available after application:

  • Borrowing materials from the library's physical collection
  • In-library usage of the library's electronic collections (requires a guest internet login, available from the Level 1 Service Desk, Library North)
  • Printing, photocopying, and scanning
  • Use of library spaces (Note: group study rooms may only be reserved by current Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff)
