SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS
In addition to scholarships and awards available to all CSLA students, students enrolled in degree programs in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures are eligible for the following:
- The Florence Bonhard Scholarship, awarded to outstanding graduate and undergraduate students.
- The Howard Starret Memorial Scholarship, awarded to outstanding graduate and undergraduate students.
- The Japanese Study Scholarship, awarded to outstanding undergraduates majoring in Japanese.
- The Major Tsai Poetry Declamation Prize, awarded to winners of the annual contest for students of Chinese.
- The Major Tsai Scholarship, awarded to outstanding graduate and undergraduate students studying Chinese.
- The Carter Modern Language Essay Prize, awarded to the student submitting the best-written essay in English on any topic related to the study of languages other than English.
- The Kylie Hsu Scholarship, awarded to outstanding students studying Chinese language, linguistics, and literature.
- The Monique Wu Scholarship, awarded to outstanding students majoring in Chinese.
