Draft Strategic Plan

Since the beginning of our strategic planning journey, our objective has been to ensure the process was inclusive, collaborative, and transparent – allowing all voices to be heard, and all stakeholders the opportunity to participate in the strategic planning process.

In developing the strategic plan, the Strategic Planning Coordinating Committee (SPCC) determined it was necessary to review our University’s mission, vision, and values. By doing so, we were able to ensure that our purpose and direction were clearly articulated, and that the priorities and goals in the strategic plan aligned with where we are today and where we want to be as a University.

The SPCC has drawn on information and feedback shared by more than 2,500 members of the Cal State LA community, gathered from 20 strategic planning workshops, student surveys, and community discussions, to write the draft of the strategic plan. The draft focuses on four pillars that will be key to successfully moving the University towards our desired future state.

Please spend some time reading the strategic plan below, including the draft mission, vision, and values, as well as the goals and initiatives that support each pillar in the strategic plan.

Once you have read the plan, we hope that you will share your feedback.
