Tax Compliance

The University and its auxiliary organizations need to comply with existing state and federal tax regulations, and Tax Compliance Services ensures that occurs promptly and correctly. Functions of Tax Compliance Services include withholding and paying the proper amount of tax, and filing required tax and information returns of the Sales and Use Tax, Nonresident Alien Tax, Unrelated Business Income Tax, and County Possessory Interest Tax. The unit is responsible for consistent application of relevant controls, policies, procedures, and state and federal laws.

The mission of the Tax Compliance function is to ensure the University's compliance with all applicable federal and state tax law, including withholding and paying the proper amount of tax and filing all required tax and information returns. We also strive to provide quality services to all departments and auxiliary organizations with tax related problems and solutions. Our major areas of tax compliance include:

  • Nonresidential Alien Tax Withholding
  • Sales and Use Tax
  • Unrelated Business Income Tax
  • Annual Possessory Interest Report
