Eun-Young Elaine Kang, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Computer Science of the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at Cal State LA and currently serves as Chair of the Computer Science Department. Her research interests are in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Augmented/Mixed Reality, and Game Programming. She has served as principal undergraduate advisor for the Computer Science department for several years. Also, she has served as PI/Co-PI on multiple educational projects sponsored by NSF programs including NSF S-STEM, NSF GK-12, and NSF TUES.

Guidelines for Requesting a Recommendation Letter: I am happy to write recommendation letters only for students whose work I know well through meaningful academic or professional interactions, such as research, teaching assistantships, or substantial class projects. Interactions limited to general advisement or access to academic records alone are not sufficient for a strong letter. All requests must include a current résumé, a brief summary of our work together, and a draft letter highlighting your goals and key experiences. You must waive your right to view the letter (confidential letters are generally taken more seriously by selection committees.), and requests should be made at least two weeks before the deadline.
