Arsine Baghdasarian - College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology, Class of 2015 ARSINE BAGHDASARIAN
Bachelor of Science in mechanical and manufacturing engineering
College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology

Arsine Baghdasarian took advantage of student organizations and internship opportunities during her time at Cal State L.A., which provided experience and skills that have helped her land a job after she receives her Bachelor of Science degrees in mechanical and manufacturing engineering.

She served as the vice president of the Student Council for the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, the vice president of the Society of Women Engineers, and a researcher at the NASA Structures, Propulsion, Aerospace and Control Engineering (SPACE) Center on campus. Excelling in the classroom, Arsine became a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma engineering honor societies.

Arsine completed a summer internship with the URS Corporation at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington. The internship provided an opportunity to work with engineers on the development of the world's largest nuclear waste treatment plant.

“I learned new skills,” Arsine says, “and came back at the end of the summer with a positive attitude toward challenges.”

That experience paid off. Arsine recently accepted a full-time opportunity with the firm on the same project as a cognizant systems engineer. Upon her relocation to the state of Washington, she is looking forward to pursuing a Master of Science degree.
