The Golden Eagles men’s soccer team is favored to win the California Collegiate Athletic Association title, according to a poll of conference coaches.

The Cal State L.A. squad is the reigning NCAA Division II West Region champion and was predicted to win the CCAA championship in the coaches poll announced this week. In a separate poll released earlier this month, the team was ranked No. 6 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The team includes 18 returning players and opens its 2015 season on September 3 with an away game at Western Washington.
