WHAT: Reaffirming the University's commitment to creating a "university of place" that works in partnership with the Los Angeles region, California State University, Los Angeles will officially open its new Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good on May 5.
This event kicks off a week-long celebration leading up to the May 9 investiture of William A. Covino as Cal State L.A.'s seventh president.
WHO: Joining President Covino at the grand opening will be Taffany Lim, who is the senior director of the Center. Lim has served the Los Angeles community for more than 20 years, with expertise in strategic planning, volunteer/board development, program management, fundraising and policy development. She was also a part-time instructor at Cal State L.A. for the Youth Agency Administration Certification Program. Most recently, she served as the associate director of the Edmund G. "Pat" Brown Institute for Public Affairs.

MORE: The Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good at Cal State L.A. will advance the public good through multiple pathways that empower Cal State L.A. students to develop their capacity for public service, civic engagement, and community leadership.
