Will also launch ‘Mind Matters’ initiative aimed at student well-being

WHO:  William A. Covino will kick off his second year as the seventh president of California State University, Los Angeles at the University Convocation on Sept. 22 by announcing the hiring of 27 new tenure-track faculty, the launch of the #IServeLA community service-learning program, and the increase in number of academic advisers.

WHAT:  President Covino will also present his vision for the new academic year, which includes launching a “Mind Matters” campaign focused on students’ academic and personal well-being to help reduce their everyday stress and anxiety.

WHEN:  Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, 9 -10 a.m.
