Cal State L.A. Announces the
University Club Vintner Dinner Series
Los Angeles, CA -- Golden Eagle Hospitality at California State University, Los Angeles, will be hosting the first of a series of vintner dinners at the University Club on the Cal State L.A. campus starting Thursday, February 19, 2004, at 6:00 p.m.
The first dinner—featuring guest speaker Tim Malette from The Henry Wine Group—will be a taste of “California Wines,” complementing a special chef’s menu of four courses.
According to Samuel J. Cowan, University Club manager, the Vintner Series is a dinner featuring a different wine with every dish. Generally, each series will highlight one vintner (a person who makes or sells wines) and the wines from one specific winery.
Cowan adds, “For our first dinner, we will offer several distinct wines from different regions of California. In the future, we might include wines from Spanish regions, Italian regions, wines from another state and so on. The menu, developed by Executive Chef Steve M. Nelson, is designed around the wines to offer our campus community a fine ‘dine and wine’ experience.”
The University Club on the Cal State L.A. campus is located off the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway, at the interchange of 10 and 710 Freeways. Public (ticket dispenser) parking available in Lots C, F and G, or the upper level of Parking Structure II.
The cost per person is $50 and reservations are required by Friday, February 13, for the first dinner. For reservations or more information, call the University Club main line at (323) 343-6777.
The Golden Eagle is a state-of-the-art facility with more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a 20,000 square-foot University bookstore operated by Barnes and Noble, the University Club restaurant, and an international food court with a multitude of dining options. Golden Eagle Hospitality will provide catering and event services not only to the campus community, but to the public as well, and its striking architecture makes the building a prominent centerpiece of the campus.
