Community Invited to a Free Open Rehearsal of God's Man in Texas at Cal State L.A. What & Who: The cast of GodÂs Man in Texas will be rehearsing on the Cal State L.A. campus to prepare for its LORT (League of Resident Theatres) co-production at CincinnatiÂs Playhouse in the Park and The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. The open rehearsal, followed by a discussion with the playwright David Rambo, Equity theatre company members and director Stephen Rothman, will be free to the public. When: Open rehearsal: Sunday, September 9, 2001, 2 p.m. Where: Cal State L.A. State Playhouse. The University is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway, at the interchange of 10 and 710 Freeways. Public permit dispenser parking is available in Lots C and G or upper level of Parking Structure II. More: This play was first performed at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in Louisville in March 1999. Since that time, this comedy/drama piece has been produced or has pending productions at 22 different regional theatres across the country. Its official Los Angeles premiere will take place in Spring 2002 at the Geffen Theatre. Stephen Rothman, chair of Cal State L.A.Âs Theatre Arts and Dance Department, first directed GodÂs Man in Texas at Florida Stage in West Palm Beach in April 2000.
