Los Angeles, California -- In a recent ceremony, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association's Board of Directors confirmed Cal State L.A. alumnus Ronald A. Okum to serve as president for the 2001-2002 Tournament Year.

The owner and president of Ron Okum Insurance Agency in Pasadena, Ronald Okum received his B.A. in Physical Education in 1963 and his M.A. in Health Science/Safety in 1970 from Cal State L.A. He is a member of the Cal State L.A. President's Associates and a former member of the Alumni Board of Directors. Okum is currently a member of the Cal State L.A. His 33-year Tournament career spans from parade operations and float entries to long range planning, and queen and court.

In addition to his volunteer service with his alma mater and the Tournament of Roses Association, he is also a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and Top of the Table. He is a regent with Loyola Marymount University and is past president of the University Club of Pasadena, the Pasadena Optimist Club, and the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame for scholar/athletes.

The 113th Rose Parade, themed Good Times, will take place on Tuesday, January 1, 2002, at 8 a.m. (PST). To request for a photo or to schedule an interview with Ronald Okum, call the Cal State L.A.
