Cal State L.A.'s 18th Annual
Pat Brown Institute Awards Dinner

What & Who:
The Edmund G. "Pat" Brown Institute of Public Affairs (PBI) at California State University, Los Angeles will honor Rose Ochi of the U.S. Department of Justice, a long-time community leader; Nathaniel Trives, board member, Crossroads School and the National Conference for Community and Justice, Santa Monica Bay Region; Ann Marie Wheelock, president and CEO, FannieMae Foundation; and Harold Williams, president emeritus of the J. Paul Getty Trust, at its 18th Annual Pat Brown Institute Awards Dinner.

When:
Thursday, April 8, 1999, 6:30 p.m.-reception, 7 p.m.-dinner & awards ceremony.

Where:
Regal Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles.

VIPs:
The keynote speaker for the evening will be California Assembly speaker Antonio Villaraigosa, and the master of ceremonies will be Warren Olney, distinguished host of the critically-acclaimed KCRW radio program, "Which Way L.A.?" The 1999 dinner chair will be Leland Wong, Kaiser Permanente's California Director for Government and Community Relations. More than 25 public policy leaders are expected at this event.

Affiliated with Cal State L.A. since 1987, the Pat Brown Institute annually presents Public Service Awards to outstanding individuals whose public service accomplishments reflect the public policy ideals of former California Governor Edmund G. "Pat" Brown (1959-1967) as well as the University's urban mission and community commitment. The Institute is a non-partisan public policy center focusing on community development, youth empowerment, and applied policy research.
