Cal State L.A. Presents "Oasis"

What & Who:
The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at Cal State L.A. presents "Oasis," a thesis dance concert with new works by two promising graduate choreographers, Jennifer Rodarte and Marissa Tamayo. Directed by Hae Kyung Lee.

When:
Fri., Jan. 29 & Sat., Jan. 30, 1999, 8 p.m.; Sun., Jan. 31, 1999, 2:30 p.m.

Where:
Cal State L.A. King Hall Dance Studio. The University is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Fwy., at the interchange of 10 and 710 Fwys. Public (permit dispensers) parking in Lots C and G, and the upper level of north Parking Structure II.

Director:
Hae Kyung Lee is an associate professor of Dance at Cal State L.A. She has performed extensively throughout Korea, Japan, France, Indonesia, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada and the United States. She is a founding member of the Seoul Contemporary Dance Company, the Los Angeles-based Chopsticks and Sneakers, and since 1986, Hae Kyung Lee and Dancers. Lee's work has been included in the Los Angeles Dance Kaleidoscope, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Arts Festival, the Asian American Choreographer's Showcase at the Japan America Theater, the Manadapa Theatre in Paris, Festival de Folklore Drummondville in Canada and more. She has been the recipient of grants from the California Arts Council and the National State County Partnership. In 1995, she was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Choreography Fellowship.
