Cal State L.A. Presents its
First-Ever Conference on "Hip-Hop"

What:
The Cross Cultural Centers at California State University, Los Angeles present "Hip-Hop: What it is. What it ain't. What it could be!", featuring popular recording artist/actor Ice-T as the keynote speaker. The conference includes performances and demonstrations by musicians, DJs, dancers, poets, and graffiti artists.

When:
Saturday, May 20, 2000, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Keynote address: 12 noon-1:30 p.m., Los Angeles Room, University-Student Union.

Where:
Cal State L.A. University-Student Union. The University is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Fwy., at the interchange of 10 and 710 Fwys. Public permit dispenser parking available in Lots C and G, or the upper level of northern Parking Structure II.

More:
The day's event will also include discussions on different elements of hip-hop, hip-hop and social change, women and hip-hop, violence and hip-hop, and hip-hop and multiculturalism.

In the Alhambra Room, University-Student Union, 3:30-5 p.m., Ice-T will also be speaking on the "Violence and Hip-Hop" panel exploring the violence that has been associated with aspects of hip-hop culture.
