Cal State L.A. Cinematic Visions to Present
2004 Student Film and Video Festival
Los Angeles, CA -- The 2004 Cal State L.A. Student Film and Video FestivalÂorganized by television and film students of the Cinematic Visions Film ClubÂwill feature screenings of student film projects and an awards ceremony honoring students, faculty and supporters. The festival, now in its sixth year, includes the following categories in its competition: Best of 200 (Single Camera Production), Documentary, News Magazine, Public Service Announcement, Animation, Music Video, Experimental, Narrative Fiction (in comedy and drama), and Best of 301 (Intermediate Studio Production), Cinematography, and Un-produced Short Screenplay.
Screenings of film and video entries will take place in the Music Building, room 219, and the Music Quad, located outside the Music Building. Screenings are as follows:
Monday, May 17, 6-10 p.m., MUS 219
Tuesday, May 18, 6-10 p.m., MUS 219
Wednesday, May 19, 8:30-11 p.m., Music Quad
Thursday, May 20, 8:30-11 p.m., Music Quad
First place and honorable mention in each category will be recognized at the festivalÂs awards ceremony on Friday, May 21, 6:30 p.m., in Cal State L.A.Âs Music Hall.
Cal State L.A.Âs Film and Video Festival was started in 1997 as a collaborative film and video event with the Los Angeles HeArt Project, the International Documentary Association, and the Cal State L.A. Communication Studies Department. The purpose of the festival is to provide a venue for student films and make available to the public the best work of these young emerging filmmakers.
