Record Number of High School Seniors
Attended Cal State L.A.'’s Freshman Admission Day

Los Angeles, CA -- California State University, Los Angeles reported a record-setting turnout for its annual Freshman Admission Day, held on Saturday, November 16. The students, registering for Fall 2003 represented more than 90 high schools in the greater Los Angeles area. Processing was done on the spot by Admissions staff. Approximately 1,000 students, family and friends were in attendance. In addition to being admitted to the University immediately, high school seniors had the opportunity to tour the campus, see lab demonstrations and meet CSULA faculty, staff and students. “More than 580 student applications were submitted, showing an increase of 49.7% over last year,” said Vincent Lopez, Cal State L.A. Director of Outreach and Recruitment.
