Good Morning Esperanza – a career day and back-to-school preparation event
CSULA students get children ready, set to go to college
Los Angeles, CA – On June 1, the faculty and staff at Esperanza Elementary School—in association with students of the Rehabilitation Counseling Association (RCA) at Cal State L.A.—are coming together to organize a worthy project to make a difference for the children in the Ready-Set-Go Program at Esperanza Elementary School.
Good Morning Esperanza, designed as a career day and back-to-school preparation event for the 2012-13 school year, is scheduled to run from 7:30 a.m. through noon. A group of approximately 40 kindergarten through 5th-grade children, representing diverse family backgrounds from throughout the downtown Los Angeles area, will be on hand.
The event will provide age-appropriate activities to reinforce concepts related to staying in school, planning for future careers and attending college. As part of the festivities, each participant will be sent home with a backpack filled with back-to-school essentials, such as school supplies and gift cards.
