Cal State L.A. University Police Department

PUBLIC NOTICE

As part of a program to maintain accredited status, the California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State L.A.) Police Department (University Police) is scheduled for an on-site assessment between August 11 and 14, 2013.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program verifies that an agency meets professional standards by requiring it to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

The on-site assessment at Cal State L.A. provides a forum for University Police employees and members of the community to offer comments on the ability of the University Police to comply with CALEA’s standards for accreditation:

In person: A public information session will be held Monday, August 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m.  The session will be conducted at the ASCB 132 (Wing B, Annenberg Science Complex) located at
5151 State University Drive, Los Angeles, CA  90032.

By telephone:  Assessment Team members will receive comments on Monday, August 12, 2013, between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. at (323) 819-9430.

In writing: You may mail your written remarks to the Commission at the following address:
