Los Angeles, CA – Pascual Menutti, one of Argentina’s most recognizable radio voices when it comes to news, will discuss his career and offer a workshop at Cal State L.A. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 2 and 3.  Both events are free and will be conducted in Spanish.

The discussion, titled “Periodismo en español,” will be presented Thursday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. in Music Building Room 149 (the Choral Room), at Cal State L.A.    A workshop on radio journalism skills will be offered Friday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. in Music 219.

Menutti, born in Argentina in 1932, founded the News Service of LU9 Radio Mar del Plata, in the 1950s.  For 20 years during the 1960s and 1970s, he was the newscaster of Radio Mitre, one of the top five AM radio stations in Argentina, and at Radio el Mundo. Until recently, he was the newscaster of Radio de la Ciudad

Menutti also hosted many radio shows, including these: “Tangos para una exposición” (a daily show on tango music and culture broadcasted during the 70’s); “El rostro de la Nación” (a biweekly show on current political issues), and lately, “Sin prisa y con pausa” (a cultural program about literature and music which created a cult following and reintroduced the art of reading in the airwaves of Buenos Aires).
