Four civic leaders honored for advancing forensic science
Cal State L.A. to hold annual CFSI Honoree Recognition Reception
What & Who: The California Forensic Science Institute (CFSI) at Cal State L.A. will recognize four remarkable individuals for their contributions to forensic science and CFSI at its annual Honoree Recognition Reception.
This year’s honorees are:
§ Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charles L. Beck;
§ California Attorney General and Governor-elect Jerry Brown;
§ Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, Alternate Public Defender, Janice Fukai; and
§ California Department of Mental Health, Chief Law Enforcement Services and Assistant to the Director Arthur M. Kassel.
When: Friday, Dec. 10, 9:30-11 a.m.

Details: The 2010 CFSI honorees will be introduced by L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, L.A. County District Attorney Steve Cooley, L.A. Superior Court Judge Mark Windham, and L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca.
More: The California Forensic Science Institute—coordinated by Rose M. Ochi, executive director—is a partnership among Cal State L.A., L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, and L.A. Police Department. It was created by CSULA President James W. Rosser to serve the Los Angeles Regional Crime Laboratory.
