Dr. Bagot’s areas of expertise includes production and operations management; strategic planning; management of change/change management; operations research; small business management and vocational education management. In banking, he has worked extensively in the areas of market segmentation analyses, branch reconfiguration studies, and major system analysis and implementation projects. In the private postsecondary vocational school industry, he has taken one such school through the National Accreditation process. He subsequently obtained Federal Government approval for, and established Federal Financial Student Aid Programs at the school.

Dr. Berkley’s research interests include disruptive airline passengers (on-board aircraft security and aviation law), nightclub security management (alcoholic beverage law and applications of constitutional and land-use law to nightclubs and bars), policing (nightclubs, bars and crowd control), and urban entertainment districts (planning, design, operations and policing).

Dr. Ellen Drost is an expert in international business management and cross-cultural research methodology. Her current research focuses on managing multinational teams, entrepreneurship, and strategic decision making. She is the author of numerous articles, conference papers, case studies, and book chapters on international human resource management, cross-cultural leadership, international training and development, management of international academic research teams, and business practices in Mexico.

Rauf R. Khan

Dr. Khan’s areas of expertise are managerial leadership and motivation, organizational behavior, management of multi-national operations, comparative studies of management in different countries of the world (particularly Japan, the Pacific Rim, Europe and Russia) and culture and its role in international interactions. Dr. Khan has spent time in Europe, South East Asia and Japan, and has developed first-hand knowledge of the socio-cultural, political and economic conditions of those countries. Dr. Khan has worked for the U.N. as a Senior ILO Advisor on Management Development. He gives lectures on U.S. Management to visiting Japanese business students at Cal State L.A. His publications focus on Japanese management and problems of trade between the U.S. and Japan.

Kern Kwong

Dr. Kwong’s expertise is in the field of operations and production management. He is the author of 63 articles and papers which focus on business forecasting, manufacturing and sales practices in China, Japan, Korea and the U.S., and computers in the workplace. He is also specialized in management issues of small business firms. Dr. Kwong is the first vice-president of the International Association of Business Forecasting.

John F. Steiner

Dr. Steiner studies business ethics and corporate social responsibility. He is the co-author of a comprehensive textbook, Business, Government, and Society: A Managerial Perspective (7th ed., 1994), and several other books on the business-society relationship. His research and writing focus on how changes in society affect the manager’s job and include case studies of corporations that have been conspicuously responsible or irresponsible in business. Dr. Steiner was formerly a member of the Advisory Board for the Edmund G. “Pat” Brown Institute of Public Affairs at Cal State L.A.


Leslie K. Williams

Dr. Williams currently teaches the undergraduate and graduate courses in ethics in the College of Business and Economics at Cal State L.A. She has lectured on issues of business ethics and corporate social responsibility in China at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Guangdong Business College, and for the Leadership Center at Cal State L.A. Her research examines the cultural and institutional determinants of entrepreneurship, innovation, and growth.

Dr. Young’s areas of expertise include career development, training and development, gender in the workplace, interpersonal communication, and developing organizational relationships. She has presented her research at several conferences including Academy of Management, Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and others. She has received best paper awards for three of her research papers at Western Academy of Management and the Institute for Behavioral and Applied Management. Her research has been published in Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Review, Group and Organization Management, Sex Roles, and other scholarly journals.
