Dr. Larson has worked for labor and community groups on issues of minority income, employment, and the California minimum wage. He has done research and published on the topics of the use of contingent workers, black youth unemployment and affirmative action. His fields of interest are labor economics, industrial organization, utilities regulation, urban studies, and affirmative action, especially the impact of local-government affirmative action programs for minority and women-owned businesses in California.

Dr. Mohanty’s range of expertise extends throughout the field of economics. He conducts academic instruction in econometrics, mathematical economics, statistics, quantitative methods, microeconomics and labor economics. He is an active researcher in the field of labor economics and applied economics. Dr. Mohanty received the University’s Outstanding Professor Award in 1995 and a Phi Kappa Phi distinguished scholar award in 1997. He is a member of the Western Economic Association, American Economic Association, and the Society of Labor Economics. He is a referee and reviewer for numerous publications and papers. He directed Cal State L.A.’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research during 1999-2000 academic year.


Sunil K. Sapra

Dr. Sapra’s areas of expertise include econometrics, statistics, and microeconomics. He specializes in microeconometrics and has published extensively in leading econometrics and statistical journals. He has presented papers at international conferences in these fields. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal, Interstat, and also serves as a reviewer for several econometrics and statistical journals. He has been included in Who’s Who in the World (2000-2004) and Who’s Who in America (2002-2005). He is a recipient of Cal State L.A.’s 2002-2003 Outstanding Professor Award.

Dr. Tran’s field of expertise includes macro and microeconomics, money and banking, business statistics, economic forecasting, development and planning, international trade and public finance. Dr. Tran has presented numerous papers at international conferences, including “Population Growth and Economic Development: New International Evidence.” He has also served as a consultant for the Regional Plan Association regarding methodologies for selection of target industries and adoption of economic development strategies for the New York Urban Region. Dr. Tran’s awards include a Cal State L.A. Reserve Fund Grant for building an econometric forecasting model for Los Angeles County. He holds membership in the American Economic Association, among others.
