The kick-off event for this year's One Campus, One Book (OCOB) -- a University Library initiative designed to encourage a common reading experience and sense of community at Cal State L.A. The 2014-15 selection is Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. The novel follows the story of two wealthy sisters in 1930s Shanghai, China, who, to pay off their father's gambling debt, are sold into marriage to two brothers in Los Angeles. CSI works with over 100 student organizations, plans on & off-campus activities, and facilitates leadership development activities throughout the year. Come by for a few minutes to get information on how you can get involved. The International Office will celebrate and recognize Cal State L.A.’s International Scholars. At this reception scholars will share their experience during their time on campus, meet new incoming scholars and converse with faculty and staff about their research and achievements.
