Presented in the 17th century cabinet display, these objects speak volumes to the contemporary collection techniques of the campus and its history in Los Angeles. Ranging from economic and social issues, to personal history and notable ephemera, the University's Special Collections & Archives Department continues to maintain the conservation and preservation of these fascinating items.

This orientation program acquaints incoming international students with Cal State L.A., providing information on the campus and the university's many resources and services.  The program will feature speakers from different academic departments and cover sessions on university policies and procedures, U.S. immigration requirements, and public safety.  Students will also be able to connect with academic advisors and meet current international students to aid them in adjusting to life in Los Angeles and instill support for an academically successful quarter.

Cal State L.A.’s Art History Society presents the 2015 Mesoamerican Symposium, entitled “In the Realm of the Vision Serpent: Decipherments and Discoveries in Mesoamerica,” which will feature highly regarded keynote speakers and prominent experts. The symposium is dedicated to the life and work of renowned scholar of Maya art and writing Linda Schele. She was at the forefront of the decoding of Maya hieroglyphics and made lasting contributions to the evolution of that field.
