Taking notes from lectures presents many challenges for college students. Some of the challenges students may face include not having an organized system for taking notes, not being able to keep up with the instructor, not knowing what to write down, and not having an effective and efficient means to study the lecture notes. This presentation will offer some suggestions for meeting these challenges. Handouts will be provided.
Larry Rafferty, a Cal State LA alumnus and student of Henri Coulette, will be speaking about his career as a poet and poetry publisher on Thursday, Feb. 11.
He will be discussing letterpress printing in ENG 392 from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in King Hall B 1019.

The Deportation of Innocence tells the story of four Mexican American children and their immigrant families as they come to terms with deportation and the long lasting effects this has had on their lives. In addition to these stories, the documentary includes testimonies from lawyers, social workers, academics and priests who have firsthand knowledge and insight into the hardship of family separation and the challenges of reunification. Directed by Francisco Alcaron, 2015, 52 minutes.
