The Day of the Educator recognizes the class of 2014 candidates recommended for credentials to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing according to their expertise in areas of elementary teaching, secondary teaching, reading specialist, special education teaching, pupil personnel services, and administrative services. Recipients of the Friends of the CCOE scholarships, outstanding local school district partners, master teachers, and field supervisors will also be honored.
William A. Covino will be invested as Cal State L.A.’s seventh president in a formal ceremony, themed "Engagement, Service, and the Public Good." The campus community is invited to attend this academic inauguration to mark the beginning of a new era and formally welcome the new president.

Eagle-Con is a 2-day event that brings together indie comics, superheroes, critical thinking and an insider’s view of this highly creative industry. Nested on the campus of Cal State L.A., home of the “Golden Eagles,” Eagle-Con will explore issues of race, gender, orientation, identity and representation in comic books while also celebrating the boundless imagination of artists and writers that turns “ordinary” humans in to life-long devotees of the superhero/ine.
Greek Week 2014 aims to unite the Cal State LA fraternity and sorority community through various academic, philanthropic, and social events. Teams earn points through percentage of participation in Greek Week events with additional points being awarded throughout the week during various contests and competitions.
