The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for college students who plan to pursue careers in government or public service. This includes careers in government, education, nonprofit, public interest/advocacy, social work, healthcare, etc. Truman Scholars receive up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, participate in leadership development activities, and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government.

This introduction level workshop is open to all Cal State LA students looking to craft competitive scholarship and fellowship essays. Interested students must bring a draft of a personal statement or a past essay to the workshop. Space is limited.

The Udall Scholarship is a $7,000 award for sophomore and junior level college students committed to careers related to the environment, tribal public policy, or Native American health care.

This information session will familiarize you with the award, application process, and best practices for constructing a competitive application. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors of all majors are encouraged to attend.
