For prospective students and their families to learn more about Cal State L.A.'s Honors College. The program will include special classes featuring the following topics: "Who is an Expert?: Scholarly Expectations and Student Success," "Science Fiction and Global Citizenship," "Food Justice and Global Citizenship," and "Reading Los Angeles: From Hell to Hawthorne with Dante, the Doors, and the Beach Boys."
Dr. Debbie Covino, Certified Master Clinical Hypnotherapist and Workshop Facilitator, will conduct a two-day Saturday course (Jan. 31 and Feb. 7).
Renowned violinist, singer and composer Kishi Bashi’s multi-layered violin-techno pop music is one-of-a-kind. Bashi has recorded and toured internationally with artists such as Regina Spektor, Sondre Lerche, and indie rock group Of Montreal. Kishi Bashi’s self-recorded and self-produced project began in 2011 with his first EP, ‘Room for Dream,’ followed by his first full-length album ‘151a.’
Black History Month wouldn’t be Black History Month without one mention of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We’ll have iconic images, with stories, of the Civil Rights leader on display in the Cross Cultural Centers.
Join us as Dr. Msia Clark, faculty, Department of Pan-African Studies at Cal State L.A., shares her research on the ways Tanzanian hip hop artists use social media to participate in social discourse to disseminate their music.
