The Intermediate Personal Statement Workshop is open to Cal State L.A. students who have completed the Introductory Personal Statement Workshop or have obtained permission from Ms. Zimmerman to attend. Participants should bring a polished draft of a personal statement to workshop. Space is limited. Join the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center as we bring awareness to the hardships of those who identify as Trans*, Transgender, Transsexual, Gender Queer, and Gender Non-Conforming. Celebrate in community, as we honor the beautiful lives of those taken too soon, and show that Cal State L.A. stands against transphobia.

Acclaimed documentary Toilet Training addresses the persistent discrimination, harassment, and violence that people who transgress gender norms face in gender segregated bathrooms. Using the stories of people who have been harassed, arrested or beaten for trying to use bathrooms, the film focuses on bathroom access in public space, schools, and workplaces. Directed by Tara Mateik and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, 2014, 40 minutes.
