Learning Outcome 1: Overnight Orientation

As a result of participating in Overnight Orientation, new students will establish a sense of belonging at the University.

Assessment Measures

Event and post-event evaluations.

Assessment Data Collection Plan

Immediately following Overnight Orientation; fall semester check-in email; spring semester mixer.

Analysis of Results

The results will be analyzed by comparing data collected from the immediate post-evaluation and the follow-up evaluation administered the following semester.

Use of Results

Results will be shared internally to further develop and improve Overnight Orientation. Results will be used to isolate practices and components that need improvement. Highlights will be shared with the Student Life Assessment Council.

Learning Outcome 3: RISE Peer Mentoring Program

As a result of participating in the RISE Peer Mentoring Program, first-year students will be retained through their first year.

Retention report for specialized population.

Data will be collected through the RISE Peer Mentoring Program.

Existing Data

University retention reports.

Analysis of Results

The results will be analyzed by reviewing PeopleSoft-generated reports and comparing them to existing University retention data. Results will be disaggregated as follows:

  • RISE Peer Mentors (continuing students)
  • RISE Mentees (first-time freshmen)
  • RISE Mentees (first-year transfers)
