Introduction
I have been teaching at CSULA since the fall of 2008. My academic career began with an undergraduate degree from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. After that, I completed a Masters in Philosophy and History of Science at the London School of Economics. From there I went to University of Wisconsin-Madison to do my Ph.D.
Research Interests
My areas of specialization are moral philosophy and social/political philosophy. I also have a research interest in Islamic philosophy. In the past couple of years, I have been working on various normative and conceptual issues raised by political violence, especially genocide, terrorism, and war. In Islamic philosophy, I have focused on the development of political theory is the classical period.
