Dr. Carlin Nguyen is the H. Jean Waldrop Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business and Economics. He holds a Ph.D. and a Masters degree in marketing as well as a Bachelors in management from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Nguyen specializes in coaching and mentoring millennial sales professionals. His industry experience in sales, management, and recruiting, along with his connection to industry professionals, helps him bridge the gap between theory and practice so that students gain relevant, real-world experience in the classroom where they can develop the requisite skills that will make them competitive on the job market. Dr. Nguyen strives to develop the next generation of "work-ready" business professionals that operate with the utmost moral and ethical standards. He has successfully coached students for sales competitions and has helped place students with companies such as IBM, Gartner, Johnson Controls, and CDW.
Dr. Nguyen's teaching and research interests broadly focus on marketing and sales strategy, with an emphasis on sales coaching, training, and development. His work has been published in peer-reveiwed journals such as the Journal of Business Research and the European Journal of Marketing.
