Description
The curators of “American Sabor” discuss the process and collaboration that went into the making of this path-breaking exhibit of Latinas/os in U.S. popular music.
·         Marisol Berrios-Miranda - Puerto Rican ethnomusicologist and active musician who researches and writes about Afro-Latin-Caribbean musical genres with a particular focus on salsa music and Latina/o identity.
·         Shannon Dudely - Professor of ethnomusicology at the University of Washington. He is the author of Carnival Music in Trinidad and Music From Behind the Bridge: Steelband Spirit and Politics in Trinidad and Tobago.
·         Michelle Habell-Pallan  - Professor, University of Washington in Seattle and author of Loca Motion: The Travels of Chicana and Latina Popular Culture and co-editor of Latina/o Popular Culture.
