Grunion Run

Date and time
Thursday, April 17, 2014 - 10:00pm
Location
Cabrillo Beach, San Pedro
Description

Spend a night sitting on Southern California's sandy shore waiting for the “grunion run.” Grunions are small sardine-size fish of the silversides family, which are among the few species of fish that actually come ashore to lay their eggs on sandy beaches and arrive at night after the high tide around the new moon and full moon. Make sure you bring warm clothing, flashlights and a blanket to sit on. More information at www.asicsula.org/grunion. (Sign up ahead of time.)
