Dr. Michael Dumas, faculty for the Graduate School of Education and African American Studies at UC Berkeley, explains what it means to analyze antiblackness as a violent rejection of the possibility of black humanity, explores how antiblackness persists even in education discourses on diversity and multiculturalism, and offers some thoughts on the (im)possibilities of black life in the face of broad disregard for, and disgust with blackness in schools, universities, and the broader society.
