Cal State L.A. welcomes those admitted for summer, fall quarters to VIP Day Feb. 13
Thousands of provisionally admitted students from Cal State L.A.’s local service area, along with their family members, will be given the “Golden Eagle” treatment at the University’s VIP Welcome Day Saturday, Feb. 13.
The Welcome Day activities, from 9 a.m-12:30 p.m., will include workshops on financial aid and scholarships, and meetings with Cal State L.A.’s Colleges and Departments.
The prospective-student VIPs may also tour campus facilities, including the remodeled Student Housing Complex, the new Wallis Annenberg Integrated Sciences Complex and the new University-Student Union.
Many of the students invited will be graduating from Eagle Rock, Garfield, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Wilson high schools or transferring to Cal State L.A. from Pasadena, East Los Angeles and Los Angeles city colleges.
Cal State L.A. has a faculty of internationally recognized scholars and artists. Its more than 20,000 students bring to campus a wide variety of interests, ages and backgrounds that reflect the city’s dynamic mix of populations.
The University is noted for the Luckman Fine Arts Complex; its focus on alternative energy technology; the unique Early Entrance Program for gifted youngsters; the first of its kind Charter College of Education; a renowned forensic science graduate program; and many other programs and achievements.
