UNDERGRADUATE EXHIBITION SHOWCASES
Many
mediums, presented large and small,
Los Angeles, CA
– A small galaxy of stellar works will grace the Cal State L.A. Fine
Arts Gallery through May 8 in the University’s annual exhibition of
undergraduate art.
The pieces were created within the last year by CSULA undergraduate
students from the Art Department’s Animation, Graphic Design, Fashion &
Textiles, Art Education, and Studio Arts Options. The wide range of
works were juried by the CSULA Department of Art faculty.
In display cases just outside the gallery, a highlights exhibition by
two budding art historians, Leslie Jacobo and Tiffany Staines, will
present selections from the “Walls of Passion: Murals of Los Angeles”
exhibition along with frame selections of Los Angeles’ Murals according
to traditional, non-traditional and iconic narratives strategies.
Another display case features CSULA alumnus, Kent Twitchell’s archival
material and documents of his Harbor Freeway Overture mural in Los
Angeles.
According to Gallery Director Karin Lanzoni, “The exhibition and
displays represent the collective and creative output of the Department
of Art at CSULA, and we invite the greater CSULA community to come and
view the compelling work created by our current undergraduate students.”
An opening reception was held April 26.
The Fine Arts Gallery is open Monday through Thursday and Saturdays,
