ON THE FUTURE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The California State University (CSU) Technology Steering Committee will offer a presentation on the new Integrated Technology Strategy, a major strategic program that affects the future of information technology at California State University campuses.
Wednesday, October 23, 1996, 3 - 4 p.m.
Cal State L.A. Music Hall. The University is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway, at the interchange of the 10 and 710 Freeways.
The presentation will detail plans to integrate information technologies into its primary function of learning and teaching, as well as administration. The strategy can be expected to improve the cost-effectiveness of teaching and learning throughout the CSU system. Also addressed will be investments in infrastructure, equipment and training in order to enhance academic quality and to achieve improvements in learning productivity. According to CSU officials, the ultimate goal is to move CSU, one of the nation's largest system of higher education, "into the top ranks of the most technologically-sophisticated universities in the world."
