| American Express Company LOS ANGELES  The Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State L.A. is pleased to announce that the American Express Company has awarded a gift to support the LuckmanÂs 2001-2002 season programming. The donation was presented to Luckman Executive Director Dr. Clifford Harper and staff on January 17, 2002 onsite at the Luckman by American Express representatives Paul van Deventer, vice president general manager, American Express Corporate Services, and Cheryl Kadan, account manager. Dr. Harper stated, ÂWeÂre deeply appreciative of this gift. We are pleased that the American Express Company recognizes and is willing to support the LuckmanÂs longstanding commitment to community outreach and involvement, a goal both organizations share. For some time now, the American Express card has been accepted throughout campus, especially at the Luckman Box Office. As we continue in our efforts to bring the best of the arts worldwide to audiences in greater L.A. and the San Gabriel Valley, we look forward to strengthening the relationship with the American Express Company. The Luckman Fine Arts Complex is dedicated to the presentation and exhibition of traditional and contemporary art forms that reflect the diverse and evolving cultures of Los Angeles and the world. Located five miles east of Los Angeles civic and cultural center, the Luckman was constructed in 1994 on the 175-acre hilltop campus of Cal State L.A., a comprehensive university at the heart of a major metropolitan city. The Complex includes the 1,152-seat state-of-the-art Luckman Theatre, a fine arts gallery, an amphitheatre, and the Street of the Arts. Throughout its various venues, the Luckman hosts an eclectic slate of professional dance, jazz, blues, classical music, theatre, visual arts and film events year round. Upcoming highlights through June will be performances by premier national and regional dance companies, the critically acclaimed Luckman Jazz Orchestra conducted by James Newton, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and legendary jazz vocalist Abbey Lincoln. Exhibitions in the Luckman Gallery will feature works by artists Yunhee Min (through March 2), Charles Gaines (March 16-April 27), and Jack Goldstein (May 25-July 14).
